Insurance paid out 62k CDN and I was told the accident damage was estimated at 19k CDN, but I think that is low, especially if you want top notch paint.

That's a lot of money for a totaled Japanese spec car. The current owner is going to get to enjoy it for many years at that price.

Yikes...lot's of issues with that GTS...32K is steep considering what it needs! 19K won't touch the repairs required, then at least another 10-15K probably to make the car right. On the bright side, it sounds like the PO did okay with the insurance payout at 62K.
Thanks for the detailed pics & information!

Just spoke with the owner, He is asking $18,500.00. Info given to me as follows. Not Running, has not run since 2005 supposedly,He has not tried to see if the engine will crank manually yet, Crack in Windshield,Rust on Rear Hatch,He did hook up a battery to see if its special German Horns worked, those are his words. They worked, he didn't try to see if any of the other electrics work, Windows,Head Lights,Windshield wipers etc. He did say the dash lights lit up. Says the Dash Pad is perfect no cracks. He remarked the car was kept in a climate control Garage. No dents or dings, but paint will need work. Thats about all of his remarks. Car located in Hanceville Alabama.

Sounds too rich for me on a non-runner.

Andrew,
Would you take a look at that #116 car for me if you haven't?
Or more specifically, the 105 car as it is sequential...

The 34k mile '79 seems to be a very interesting car. Any observations from you guys that know these OB cars would be appreciated. If it was on the east coast I would probably be on my way to see it.
thanks, Zach

That's going to be one to watch. Despite the fact that it needs a timing belt now and that it very-likely also needs the "20 year maintenance" (i.e. MMs, OPG, intake refresh, cam cover gaskets, A/C o-rings, etc.) it's an increasingly-rare find: a 928 that hasn't been screwed-up. As long as the winner puts it into the right hands for its needed service it will be awesome.
