Jeez, the new-to-928 threads are getting to be a hoot. (Not @ Rod, obviously) More to follow as time goes on, Im sure. Well it is great that we have such a wide spectrum of owners and cars piping up. Just remember, at this age all of the cars have more than a fair share of issues and challenges...but only the Weissachs actually come with baggage.

If I keep buying cars my wife will get the cars and cut loose her baggage...

What Bill Ball said. They're old now, and likely more individual differences based on condition, than S4, GT, GTS differences are dominant.

Also options make a significant difference... My 87 in the signature is definitely a GT wannabe!

86.5 is clearly the best of the breed.

No bias here.

I had and drove a 89 S4 auto for 17 years and has been said before, it's a great cruising car, whether in traffic or on the open road. I now have had a 91 GT (5 speed) for the last three years and very different. You get much more involved in driving it, and still a great car on the open road cruising, but not too much fun in traffic due to clutch in/clutch out, but get an open twisty road and the big grin comes on fast.

I've been running this 88 s4 for 28 years and it is truly imho a great gt

If I were looking for one condition would be the determining factor
