New owner NZ!! Row '79 Red/pasha auto
G'day from NZ, I am one happy first time Porsche owner!!! Always wanted a 928 in red with that (in my opinion) cool "retro" pasha interior.
Picked this up a day or so ago at the top of our South Island, so my first ever drive in one of these was around 800kms!!! AND I COULD NOT STOP SMILING FOR THE WHOLE JOURNEY!!!
As you can see not totally original with the spoilers and wheels, however I quite like this look, the purchace price included the Teledials, along with original tool kit and compressor, plus an extensive history list, manuals etc... along with NZ Classic car magazine April 1995 that this car featured in. (I am told that this was one of the first 928s to come into New Zealand, arriving here in '84)
It has been well maintained mechanically and always garaged, the interior is not too bad but I will re carpet it and generally bring the interior up to grade.
Commonly it has the usual little electrical gremlins, but that's part of the allure for me, and I look forward to sorting theses out.
I have read "928 FAQs " by Randy, and will find most answers in this forum I guess.
Great to be part of Rennlist, I will add more photos in due course.

Welcome. The Pascha interiors are the best, IMO.
I'm not surprised you were smiling the whole way.
That sort of jaunt is what these cars were made for.
They do it very well.
You can find just about anything you need to know on here. I generally search around first, before I ask. But any time I've asked for help, it's been there.
And yeah, we need more pics. Interior and engine please.

Congrats on the acquisition, Steve. Looks to be in great shape.
Welcome; you'll find the Rennlist 928 Forum to be a fantastic resource as you become more intimately acquainted with your new (to you) car.
You wouldn't happen to know either of the two 928s that I posted photos of about 5 years ago in a thread 928 sightings in New Zealand, would you?
Damn nice country you live in, BTW. It's on our short list of places to escape to (if you'll have us), should things continue to get worse here in the USA.

Wow, that's a cherry 79! Hope there's not many women on this RL, but it's like meeting that one girl for the first time when you a 928. You see pictures and hear about what they're like for weeks or months leading up to "driving it" for the first time..........
I went thru that a few times but only once with my 87 S4........
Enjoy it............

I don't know the two 928s you saw, but then again there are not a lot of these cars on the road "down" here in my neck of the woods, the Deep South.
