Default Rear Parking Brake Pressure Spring '88 S4

Replacing Pressure spring that holds the parking brake shoes to the backing plate. Roger sent me part #928-352-957-02. The new one is bigger diameter and stronger and it's difficult to get hooked and I believe I'm compressing it as far as it will go. As you see in the pictures my old spring came loose and got distorted. I can re-hook it a lot easier than the new one. Is it the right part number or any suggestions how to compress it and hook it?

I use a thicker phillips screwdriver to install these,
its easier to compress then turn.
The more important part of installing these is to make sure that the hook is set on the ridge portion of the hole, so it wont come free and fall into the E brake.
You will need a flashlight and mirror to see

Will try the Philips. I can see where the ridge is on the back side. An on the back job!

NOPE just use a mirror and drop light or flash light to see the holes

You're welcome Stan.

I remembered that I had pics on this.
So I thought posting them.

Good if it can help.

Got it first try this morning using a multi point driver without a bit (hollow). I did pre-compress the spring in the vise before. IMHO the spring has way too much tension just to hold it to the backing plate. This was the lower shoe spring.
