Doubtless Roger may know what the logic behind this is but given the market for these pumps logically has to be about equal amounts of both it makes no sense to me to market one and not the other unless I am missing something here.
Pretty simple - economics of quantity. Lots of early pumps being sold because they can be used with the later cars when a PKT is fitted. They were cheaper than the later pump. So sales of the later pump dwindled to very low volumes so they became uneconomic to make. Laso made the decision not me.

That has not changed.
Has this changed recently? http://www.rosepassion.com sold new Laso this week. Haven't seen it myself but pictures of pump delivered today to Finland and their website both show latest '87-95 plastic impeller version.
