Is that a "fasten Seatbelt" warning light on the right of the clock? Would that have been done in US federalization? Just curious.

Stan - I'll take it offline, don't want to thread steal any thunder from l this great find...

By the way ruisteves, very smart that you used Jim Doerr for consultation- he's a great resource to all of us here especially on the early cars. Car looks fantastically preserved and is a real find. A real unicorn!

BTW Where are you located?

Damn Alex, for a minute there I thought you unloaded yours! Congrats Rui - I have seen that color in person and it is awesome. Also, second the sentiment on Jim, he is the early car oracle.

Ha! I saw your post on a thread in FB!

Here's the car in 2010. Found these images online while I was researching...

Thanks for all your replies. I'll keep posting pics as I get more, and of course updates of the preservation.

I didn't mention my location... I'm in Cape Town, South Africa. I spend 3 months of the year here. I found the car in a small farming town 2 hours East of Johannesburg.

Looking forward to following along. I'm impressed with the engine compartment and the lack of corrosion/oxidation on all of the aluminum pieces. Figured you weren't in the states...or at least one of the ones in the the northern sector.

Brian.

A true classic, a barn find like that is like finding King Tut's tomb. Must have been a great thrill. How did you find out about it?
