Got the mesh wheels up for sale in the parts classifieds. They're very rare CSI mesh wheels Series 32 if anyone's looking for rare period wheels.

Hey Alex, good advice but not easy to discover. The others that I've researched online seem to be +10 but there's so little info on these rare wheels that I thought I'd just post a photo of them fitted onto my 928 for reference. Cheers

Welcome to the small group of 1979 928 owners. It could be a twin to mine, which also is a 5-speed no-sun roof car.
What was the manufacture date for your car? Mine is 9/78 and is production number 0315.
If your 928 isn't entered into the 928 OC registry, I invite you to (and everyone) to put your 928 into the list.

Hi Rich, good to hear from you. Please post a pic of your car and we can compare! The build date on mine is 4/79 and the VIN is 1661. It was originally Beige. I'll definitely put my car on the register. Cheers.

Finally the car is now drivable after having been to see Greg at Precision Autowerks today who did a great job with not only the transmission bushings and fuel lines but also thoroughly checked the car over making sure she was fit for duty. Thanks Greg! Can't recommend him high enough. Next picture will be out on the open road!

Thanks for that. Was wondering the same thing. Great shot. A few more:

Granted, the last part all hinges on my wife's approval...and going by my past approval rating...odds are low...extremely low a matter a fact...
lordsinclair, car looks great, nice to see it is getting out and about, nice photo locations, too...well, besides the one by the dumptser...lol.

I like that you appreciate the original look of your 79, as I do too. The phone dials belong. When a car is about ten years old the second owners feel the need to "update" them with various unneeded geegaws.
-then, when it reaches 35+ years the final owner takes it all off.
-79 5sp/ needs gps mount PO put on dash removed.

Thanks. I'm using the car every day now and it's great. The interior needs some work, needs new leather on the dash and the seats need re-stitching as well as a couple of other minor things but overall it's in good condition.
By the way I still have those rare BBS style CSI mesh gold wheels for sale if anyone wants them.
