A lot has changed since ’85 –’88!
Traffic is so dense that you may be disappointed
Anyway, you can use attached map to find out speed limit on German highway.

That's sad to hear...

All the trucks and slow vehicles stayed in the right hand lane.

If you wanted to be in the left lane you had better be doing 120+ or some Merc, BMW, or Porsche was going to be right up your tail!

Very fond memories of watching those cars blast by.

I'm sure you remember those days...

So looking at the map, all blue roads are unlimited speed?

Yes, sold blue is unlimited and dotted is variable with possibility of being unlimited. In non solid blue there are digital signs which tell what is allowed at the time. It can change from practically zero to 130kph and in best case to unlimited. Only problem is that all map versions I have see have been several years old. Lots has changed and map might not be exacly accurate anymore.

Best chances for long unlimited sections with light traffic are probably in north east. I would bet A20 from Lybeck to Polish border is place to go. Problem with it is same as reason why its the best. Its in middle of nowhere and as far from everything interesting as is possible to be in Germany. A20 is only two lanes to each direction but most of it is straight and area is very flat. This gives some idea whats its like.

Car was doing 90 so that Corvette was really "Low Flying"

It would be really great if the driving public here in the States could learn lane discipline like that.

I was here in the early 80s and back this time for 4 years now. There's still plenty of road to get your ya yas out. But if you wreck over 130 kmh (80 mph) you own it.

Flashing lights, flipping people off, etc. are aggressive driving with heavy fines - so people generally play nice in the sand box.

imo what makes it all work is absolutely, positively, you cannot pass on the right. Period. So it forces people to get out of the left lane.

Although DocMirror posted his thoughts a couple months ago, here's a current example of what he was talking about: "French workers step up protests as gas supplies run dry"

This will also give some idea how difficult it is to find space to go above 100mph.

The program of the event is almost finalized.
We are working with sponsors to finish the budget and the registration form will be available before Christmas.

I can already tell you that there will be interesting cars and people, including someone who is famous for his connection with the 911 and racing in general, but is a huge fan of the 928.
Guess who this is

Stay tuned!

All these dinners at the Caveau de Castelnau, can the cars be left there securely overnight or do the drivers have to make sure they stay sober enough to drive back to their hotels after the meal?
