Ed, you are so right. 2nd was truly a thrilling result, considering the winner was an amazing vehicle. As Jim mentioned, it was a very tough class with formidable competition. We also don't have any details on the judges scoring. It will be interesting to compare how the car does at Werks Reunion with all Porsche classes.
In the end, awards are nice but not what drove this extensive recondition project. I do consider it a community accomplishment that brought deserved attention to a historically significant car. We are excited for Friday to show the car again.

"1978 5sp #107 just arrived" The original posting title takes on a new meaning.
Congrats on the full circle from probable parts car to concours star. I've judged at this event in past years, there is a world class crew putting in a lot of serious effort in for this judging. You've seen the cars at this event., they're ALL exceptional..its no easy task to single out 1,2, and 3 in any class. Time is an issue too, each team has to cover a specific number of cars in a specific amount of time...it's never enough time at any event because as a judge you could examine a single car for 2 hours. 356 Judging has been around for decades and the minutia of correct detail has been poured over and hammered out pretty much to it's completeness. 928s are relatively new to this scene and it cannot be underestimated how important # 107's restoration and representation at this event is to the future of our cars. It will take some years and a lot of good natured but heated discussions to sort out what's "correct" "original" and "acceptable" for early 928 concours. We're now on our way.
Well done gentleman!
