Only time will tell
I have been talking to the owner for about 2 weeks. He is from Poland and a bit eccentric but was finally able to get him to provide details of car.
It suffered TBF at 96,000 miles and was rebuilt by Reeves Porsche in Tampa. This gentleman was the 2nd owner and did buy it from Reeves who had bought it back from 1st owner after some extensive repairs. Reeves had it for about a yr and half nd 2nd owner bought it in 2010.
He has repair history and receipts back to 1999 and emailed several to review.
Long story short, I flew to Tampa this morning and after about 4-1/2 hours of negotiating I have bought the car and am driving it back to Atlanta as I type. (Actually taking a break to grab so food)
I spoke to the dealership about timing belt, water pump, fuel lines, flex plate etc. and the car was good to go. It was in the dealer this past Friday for trans mounts and a shift modulator.
Everything works so far, A/C converted to 134 nd cold, mirrors, sunroof, seats, cruise control, memory function, rear wiper, windows all good.
The paint is excellent with no scratches, dings etc. I did run a carfax and verified 2 owner nd no accidents reported. Front spoiler in very good shape
I also have receipt when gauge module was swapped out and can reconcile to less than 500 miles between the old and new used module so mileage discrepancy didn't bother me.
She does have a few issues: the 2 short pieces of bump strips that attach to rear fenders are missing and the hatch struts are shot. Also the manifold and cam covers are powder coated red, not my favorite but will do for now. Oh and it does have jump post cap but cover missing
Dash has several small cracks in front of vents but pod is clear.
More to follow when I get home but enjoying her so far!

Other Kevin here. Looked it over @ other other Kevin's house today. Very nice example. Well documented service history. Needs a few things sorted out. I'll let him explain.

Thanks everybody. Definitely a different driving experience than the 87S4. Seems to have a better torque band and triple digits come quickly!
One problematic issue is she is very slow to shift into reverse. I have a receipt for a shift modulator that was installed a couple weeks ago so will need some more investigation / troubleshooting. Did check fluid level and it was to very top of reservoir so fixed that issue and got fluid to correct level. Going to wash her as it rained most of way home and will post more pics after that.

Was the car running when you checked the level?

The 2:54 ring and pinion has a way of making the car feel quicker....than the 2:20 of the 1987 S-4.
But well played !! your first post says "I bought it" !! We all know they are not making any more GTS 928s .

Thanks everybody. Definitely a different driving experience than the 87S4. Seems to have a better torque band and triple digits come quickly! Here is the VIN info per Rob Edwards over in the VIN thread: It's the second of the early '93 M718 GTSs.* WP0AA2928PS815062 1992 C02 M28.50 A28.18 I331- Radio Porsche CR-1- US Models with CDC-1 M474 - Sport Shocks I570- Rear A/C M650- Sunroof I692- Remote CD changer (6-disc) Alphine CDC-1 I718- P and R programme VIN changes (USA and Canada only) I980- Seat cover - draped leather Remote CDS changer still in rear but head unit long gone as it was replaced by the dealer with a Sony as the original was no longer available per receipt. Also, the seats are not draped leather. Looks to be regular perforated leather seats.
