Default GTS's in Vancouver

Anyone know how many GTS' are in the Vancouver area/GVRD?

One passed me on the upper levels hiway this morning around 10am. It's the grey Japanese import that was for sale a few years ago. There is also a Red GTS in Horseshoe-bay, which is where this tweet is from

I am inheriting a set of 996 Turbo Twists 18x8, 18x11's so going to fit them on the GTS for fun. Got some front rubber but need the rears now.

There were only 6 5 speed Canadian GTS's originally sold..........I have one of them.
Then there was 23 with the auto box.

Unsure how many survived or ex-Japanese cars are now in country. Colin may have seen a few of them?

I remember reading about a low miles '93 Cobalt Blue GTS in BC imported from Japan.
Not sure where in BC though.

Colin knows this one I think.

Edit: It's a five speed and in Vernon, BC.

Curious as to the year of yours = '92? I thought only 93+ came to North America?

Here's the ones I know of:
Grey '93 or 94, I saw in West Van
Black '93 with faint memory of vanity plates DOTCOM or something like that
Red '93 in Horseshoe-bay but that might be a US car - I forget. Had some paint work done I know that.
Grey '92 (I think) from Japan. It has the rear flares on still.

Light Blue GTS in Oakville Ontario (autotrader, good deal?)
Black GTS in Toronto

Was a Dark blue GTS in Nova Scotia moons ago.

So not many. I think the penny is starting to drop in traditional Porsche circles, of the rarity and special place in Porsche history these models represent.

My GTS was made in the very early months of '92 with many parts having '91 dates codes.

It was sold in Montreal Canada in May 1992, I have original paperwork.

I bought the car in 2012 in Montreal, in fact Bertrand was an instrumental part of the process and its lived in the Calgary area since.

Ive added approx 90k kms to the speedo since.....most of them very spirited

Very rare and unique car.

The owner of the light blue one in Oakville decided not to sell. But I'm sure it will pop up again. It's a mess, terrible re-spray.

My 1993 RED GTS is in fact a US model first sold in Chicago. It now resides in Horseshoe Bay.

All the best,

Joe

I know of a black one (was for sale a few months ago), and there used to be a white 5 speed car as well, I think it was also '93. I believe the white one was originally a US car and last I heard it had moved over to Vancouver Island. Not sure if it is still there?

I remember looking at the grey '93 with the front flares & rear splash guards (Japan import) when it was for sale and to this day regret not buying it...

Default Toronto Looking to Purchase a GTS

Hello from Toronto.
I am looking to purchase a 928 GTS, of course would prefer a manual transmission.
Always drove and have a few 911s. After years, am ready to purchase a GTS.
Does anyone know of or have one for sale in Canada?
Thanks for your time and enjoy reading your posts.

Not many GTS in Canada, you may want to look at importing one from across the pond. I would bet the blue one in Oakville will be listed again in the spring, keep an eye on autotrader.

Also watch the 928 forum for details of the 4th annual sharks in Ontario gathering in the summer.

Cheers

Thanks so much.
From what I have read, the polar silver/blue one
was in rough shape. The seats looked as if the
car went through the war. The seller
was posting this car everywhere. I am looking for
a clean car. I do not want any headaches. If you hear of
one or come across any, and are not interested, I am
a straight up buyer and am looking to purchase just one
clean car. I will count on your expertise if you do not mind on the PPI and service as I am not that far from yourself.
As for across the pond. I am not in the business and
have no clue how to go about this venture. I would
but do not want any horror stories.
Thanks again.

I was told by Pfaff in Toronto ( in '99 when I was looking to buy) that no '93s were brought into Canada 3 AT '94s and no '95s. So when I
asked about a 5 spd GTS he wished me good luck and hung up.

Is that your ad on kijiji looking for a 90-95? If not you have competition and if you find a local GTS you must buy it regardless. Or at least slap down a deposit right away in lieu of a PPI. The last clean 90 that was for sale sold in 2 days, the one advertised as his grandmothers car, which was true. Johnny had my number from last year and lost it so I did not get the call. Sadly I was in Myrtle beach when he posted it. Sold for 13k the night I got home or it would be in my garage.

Timing is everything.

We have one in our shop right now for a complete going over. It is a Japanese car originally and was in Ontario for a few years.

Well hey I found another one today. '92 5 Speed they are a dime a dozen. Just kiddin'! I think it's a 93 and auto, with grey interior. Said to be in km's so might be a Canadian car? Not sure why it's regi'd in Alberta. Owner lives in Vanc I suppose. I was riding my bike through the lane-way and went "WTH is that a GTS?" Yeah baby it is!!

PS: My 93GTS (is FOR SALE) was purchased originally just around the corner from where the pix was taken, at MCL motors on Burrard in Vancouver. I have the original COA, signed by the salesman. There are some pix on the Garage9 twitter. I was detailing it over Christmas, clay bar works awesome. I am going to do the brake ckt and PSD fluids again, all other fluids are done. Photo-shoot, targeting for the spring as I've never driven the car with gravel or salt on the roads. Completely stock condition, everything works but the CD in the Alpine CD-2 - typical. Almost all those units have been swapped for the Becker. 178K km's
