Default Why the 5.0?

I got the motor out of the 944, and have done 3 944 Chevy LS and 2 924 Chevy LS swaps, but I am a Ford fan so for my personal car I'm going Ford. As I did the research I had originally decided on a 5.0 but the more I looked the more favorable the 4.6l looked. Not just the room, but the actual horsepower per price I can pull. I picked up a 1993 4.6l block and a set of 16v heads. Cost 300.00 and the heads are being polished up now. I'm putting forged pistons and rods, stock crank, custom intake and dual garret turbo chargers. Most of my issues looking into the 302 was simply cost and availability of parts, for some reason there are a lot of 4.6l parts out there for super cheap.

I am seriously considering an LS3 EROD for a CARB compliant swap if mine ever goes bang. I don't know if Ford's Coyote carries CARB compliance as a crate but Chevrolet appears to have the market cornered right now with it.

Hi guys. The owner of this car though I should post it up on a few forums for interest sake. We have just completed a 2017 coyote aluminator swap into an 89 928. We piled a Whipple supercharger on there for good measure. It also sports a corvette Z06 transaxle. Engine control is done by a Link Engine Management Thunder ECU. All work with the exception of some CNC machining was done in house. It was quite a challenging swap as nothing was available on the aftermarket to assist us.

What is being done with the hood? Looks like that SC intake is sitting just a bit proud? Any pics with the hood on?

Looks good in there, gonna be an interesting upper strut bar. How much is a Coyote crate motor?

Cheaper if you buy a wrecked mustang, then you get the harness, ECU..... and sell off the rest

That is the first transplant I have seen that looks vaguely like anything Porsche might have shoe-horned into the engine bay as a natural development. The cross brace is going to be a challenge and it sure looks as though the bonnet will need a "power bulge" but for that lump on hand a modest compromise.

Still prefer the DR twin screw setup but that is a very nice looking achievement nonetheless and it is going to be one pretty machine I suspect.

The hood clearance was definitely an issue. We have a temporary hood on the car with a bolt on cowl until the power bulge on the permanent hood is done. An NA coyote would fit under the hood as it is 3" lower than the supercharger. We even notched the crossmember to lower the engine to give us more clearance. The ECU will allow us to use traction control and we have also integrated a form of boost control so will be able to use a boost by gear setup. This is the low compression aluminator and it also has a 20% overdrive ATI balancer installed. We should be sitting somewhere in the 800WHP range. It should be incredibly fast and still drive beautifully.
