I removed each contact strip and folded it back enough to put a strip of 3 m packaging clear tape on the plastic, covering both top and bottom of contact area. this added .005 thou. thickness, reinstalled the contact strips The plugs went on much tighter and solved my problem all gauges are working.. Thanks everyone for your help..
