Torque spec for torque converter drain plug
 
Hi, does anyone have the torque for the drain plug on a s4 torque converter handy?

Andy (AO) made it. Found it in Rob Edwards thread on his torque values. His didn't include values for an auto transmission so Andy made the one I posted.

You're doing it wrong.. You need a chisel and a small sledge hammer..

No Hilton, that what I used to undo all the plugs:)

As for a manual, I am very sorry I didn't have a spare garage when my friend sold his GT, but I like the auto to much to swap.

Wonderfully useful table, thanks - I'm always scrabbling through torque tables in the WSM!

But watch out for the block coolant plugs which copy the error in the WSM and show 26ft lb (around 35Nm). This is too high and risks stripping block threads and/or breaking chunk off block. The actual torque should be 26 Nm (I usually apply less) and the manual expressed this as ft lb by mistake.
