Yes. It's his boost gauge.

I guess the picture didn't load of the test fit, let's try that again. Boost gauge is just stuck on with velcro right now. Need access to back for programming. The red on the shift surround is the adhesive tape cover. Don't want to stick it down just yet.
Did have to move the door chime and associated relays on the trans tunnel to allow the climate control to fit in there. Others doing this take note. Also had to repair tunnel side panels with fiberglas because they were falling apart.

That looks very nice. It has the appearance of something the factory might have done.

Done and all installed. I had a parking brake defeat relay but it must have failed at some point. I installed everything and now it won't play videos giving me a message about not allowing video in motion. Probably best given my propensity to ignore such things (thus the prior installation of the defeat relay). I'll just leave that safety feature engaged. I don't imagine I'll be watching lots of videos on the screen anyway.
Cleaned up lots of wire and stuff. Now if I open up the dash, everything is nice and neat an I know what it is (except for the two relays by the door chime that were bolted to the trans tunnel. Don't know what they are but they are in place just not bolted down.
Those going to 3rd coast will see this in the car.

Thanks for following along. It was harrowing but fun.

I ran that parking wire to ground with my other double din radio in my truck and the video plays regardless of the truck being in park or drive. Have you already tried that?

Oh, I hadn't thought of that. I'll do that and see what happens.

The app radio (Pioneer 120)needs a "double signal" compared to older units where you can just ground it and call it a day. I picked one up on Amazon for $15...here's the link: http://www.amazon.com/s?marketplaceI...&redirect=true

Cheers!

Hey Jeff-

Do you still need wiring extensions for the HVAC fan **** connector? Sorry they haven't been forthcoming- I misplaced some of the connectors but can grab more tomorrow.

Rob

I'd take one of those if available?

Thanks

The extension is just a set of 5 wires with a female pin that connects to the HVAC head and a male pin on the other end that plugs into the factory plug. I needed to do this on my Feather console, not sure whether it's necessary for Al's console. The wrinkle is that the male pins are $3 a pop from Porsche and only available from Germany, the female pins are 50 cents each. And I've only got enough to make the 1 set I promised to Jeff, if he in fact still needs them.

So A) if your conversion needs the HVAC fan connector extended so it'll reach, B), you can wait 6 weeks or so, and C), you don't mind paying ~$25 in connectors, wire and shipping, I can make up a couple of sets.

Or anyone can order the pins, the part #'s are:

This is the extensions installed:

When I did mine i used the factory plug into the hvac unit and used a 5 plug trailer plug and wired it intonboth ends.
With this kit the plug has to be plugged into the hvac before it is screwed into the frame.
I wanted to have a way to unplug the cable before I pulled the console... You have to screw the hvac into the consolemframe before you install the console.

That's a great idea!
