Stranger: "Hey, is that a Porsche?"
Me: "Yup."
Stranger: "What kind?"
Me: "It's a nine twenty-eight"
Stranger: "A what?!"
Me: "It's the Risky Business car."
Stranger: "Right on!"
Now I tell people that it's a Porsche RB.

Anyone notice on the Holbert video how far the rear wheel was set in the wheel arch- I believe they ran with 205 sections front and rear to reduce drag thus why Holbert complained of the wheels slipping at 170 mph- just not enough grip- apparently he reckoned it might have gone faster with grippier tyres.
Oh and yes- it is a Nine Two Eight in the more refined parts of the world- that is what Top Gear called it as well so they must be right.

I remember being on vacation in the UK back in 1983. On the campsite there wer a group of schoolkids from Germany. One of them said on a very relaxed tone: "Mein Muttie hat ein neun-zwo-acht". (My mom has a nine-two-eight)
This explains a lot:
- the 928 is a car for women with children
- It's totally normail to have a 928
- The german pronounciation translates into: nine-two-eigt

356 = Three Fifty-Six
550 = Five fifty
911 = Nine Eleven
912 = Nine Twelve
918 = Nine Eighteen
924 = Nine Twenty-Four
944 = Nine Forty-Four
968 = Nine Sixty-Eight
964 = Nine Sixty-four
And So Forth!
So how does 928 (Nine Twenty-Eight) become Nine Two Eight? Mostly, it appears only in places where they drive on the wrong side of the road and others commonly referred to as "Down Under."

928,...nine-twenty-eight... It's like 911 or Nine-One-One. Depends who you ask....."What do I have? ..An '83 SHARK,Euro-S 5 speed." Says it all, no mistake.
