Default Harley Davidson headlights

After watching the video in the cool or cheese thread, I watched another video from the same guy. He says his headlights are Crees from Harley Davidson and fit all 928s with 7" lights with no modification.

He also says they cost about $500 each and that he has found a source at about $300.

Default Harley Davidson headlights

IDK, the video is kind of useless without turning them on and showing the world what they look like illuminated...

I saw a Harley Davidson promotional video for these years ago.
They are quite a bit brighter.

I saw those, was looking at them for my HD FXDC, way too expensive and kind of weird looking lenses.

Just pick up 7 or 8 in H4 headlamps and install CREE LED's headlamp bulbs(?) In them.
If you go with 7 in, should be less than 200 buck's.
100 for the LED's
7 in H4's depends on type you buy.

These are pretty nice H4headlamps.

Not as nice as my old Cibie Z beams - I wish I hadn't let them go....

At some point I'm going to adapt a set of projectors to my 928. I know Ken in Portland played with options a few years ago. I was thinking that a set of larger 50W FXR projectors could nicely replace the factory lighting, with the need to come up with some clear (non-fluted) front glass or acrylic in the original 8" shapes. I have yet to drive in a car with LED headlamps, maybe they would be a good option. I have ridden in a few cars with good projectors though, and they make my original H5's look like candles.

You can find a lot of discussions of the various options/brands on the Jeep forums, also tests to demonstrate relative brightness, etc.
I'm thinking that the $40 Ebay units aren't equivalent to the $400 (or whatever they are now) alternatives.

Pretty sure someone on here has the "Trucklites" and reported being pleased with them.

They are called JW Speaker.
There are very good knockoffs on ebay for about $200/pair.
Been looking into these for a while for the 944.

Yes, they are JW Speaker 8700 led projector style lights. I looked into these long ago they will drop right in, a set new will run you about $700. They are pretty awesome, I just haven't pulled the trigger due to price.

If you already have H4's (7" or 8") just install these CREE LED's for ~ 100 bucks a pair (Hi/Low beam).
IMO a big improvement over stock incandescent bulbs, I couldn't be happier and going to buy another pair for my other LED moded 86.5.

Would you have a specific part # for that set up ?

Yep here you go and I have no affiliation just satisfied customer for years now.

https://www.superbrightleds.com/more...aid/2221/4993/

I did notice the spec sheet that came w/ them is a bit different than the web:
H4-HLV3 = 1250/1500 Lumen, current draw 1.5 amps, 20watt, 6700k, 12 -24 volt.

They took about 15 mins per side to install, including zip tying the cables to the housing frame.

Edit: you will also need to review this thread as the Fog lights can trigger the Hi-beams and a specific Fog Light Relay mod is required depending on MY, no big deal to get correct operation go to the last two pages of the thread (thanks again Alan! and Patman too
