I can almost smell the fumes!
I can't wait to test drive it!!! I got up early this morning and bolted in the TT and flex-plate bolts. All ready to torque everything up.
BTW....I love this forum...I couldn't find the torque values for the flex-plate to flywheel anywhere. Sure enough I just sat on my desk and searched and found them... https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...ate-bolts.html THANK YOU GUYS!!!!

The engine runs very smooth...after installation of new LH, throttle body, and new spark plugs. Of course we'll see how all runs together with new transmission...well not new, it's used, but new to this car! Everything goes well then I'll tackle timing belt & water pump, top engine and fuel delivery refresh.

Crossmember ready
Got up super early today again and torqued in TT to bellhousing bolts and flex plate to flywheel. Suspended the transmission using "2" 500 lbs straps and removed the jack in preparation for the next phase-rear suspension installation. Presented the crossmember on position and raised it a bit. Placed 3M Strip-Calk on top of the shock tower plates, just like described by Dwayne. Next I'll work on the brakes....can't wait!

Haroldo,
Car is coming along nicely, it's surprising what you can get done when you steal a few minutes here and there. Plus, sometimes it doesn't seem so overwhelming in smaller increments. I usually hit the wall after about two or three hours most days, sometimes less. However, I wrench for a living...and some days are just harder than others.
Keep up the great work, enjoy following along.
Brian.

Back to how I got here....I haven't been able to work on the car for the last couple weeks....vacation with the family, too much work after the vacation. Took me a day and this morning filling the fluid with the car on jacks, running it for a couple of minutes giving it time for the fluid to get into the TC...I must have gotten under and out from under the car, filling it with fluids well over half a dozen time, but it is now seating at this level:
AND no leaks!

Cooling fans not working
Well; now that the transmission is in and the car is running it's time to continue with the rolling restoration.....so many things to address, cooling fans not working, new fuel hoses (just ordered from Roger), and TM and WP next.
Driver side cooling fan doesn't come on, passenger side fan only comes on when AC is turned on. Pull the fans out and tested; both working correctly. Checked the connection to the black finned fan control box, in the front, they look clean and tight, checked the hood switch; although I need to replace it...broken prawn legs...it's working, and the connections to the control box inside the car on passenger side also looks ok...hard to tell by just looking...what next? Ordered the new hood switch and fuel houses from Roger, who is also lending me a working fan control box to test. I'm going to clean everything up, re-wrap the cables to the fans, and drain and fill with new coolant.

Guys I need assistance with my fuel pump....it goes on as soon as I open the switch. I thought it would be that the PO might have jumper the fuel pump relay, so I replaced the relay with a new one...the old looked original without any modifications, and still the pump goes on when it should come on for a few seconds and then energize when the engine moves...correct? Where else should I look? BTW...I do have a new refurbished LH installed.
