Unbelievable! Congrats on a great job. Major inspiration even to one who has not even found a car yet!

... and just to confuse you even further, here's another on a '79 13,187 km car (http://www.ottority.com/en/wall/bran...l/928/type/928)

I think it would be safe to say you can choose where it looks right to you in that general location. The level symmetrical location on Kermit looks about right to me FWIW ... but then again

Interesting that the 2nd runner up for the 1978 COTY was a Ford Granada. That was certainly a car that was right there on the top of my list.

I'm assuming that all of us can only dream about having a warehouse full of Granadas with really low miles?

Armed with that little bit of trivia, I'll never be able look at one of those decals in the same light.

Talk about TMI....

Kind of like winning the Academy Award for Best Actress and realizing that Cher won that award for Moonstuck.....or winning Best Picture and realizing that Fargo won that award, too.

Takes a bit of the mystique away.....

It's a pretty meaningless popularity contest award, though the Granada being Miss Runner Up 1978 certainly speaks to how generally lousy cars were in 1978. That said, it's the only popularity contest the 928 ever won, so you gotta make lemonade where you can.

Minerva content: What's wrong with this picture? (Eagle-eye MrMerlin, you stay out of this.... )

The muffler nuts are incorrect and the bolts don't go through the nut far enough?

The lower metal trim on the bumper should be black and not body color?

Besides that. :

EDIT: You got it- rear bumper cover reinforcement plate should be black. Although Anderson has a new one in stock, and it's bare aluminum. For whatever that's worth.

The lower shock adusters were not gold, but silver?

The muffler should be silver/grey not black?

I am afraid the misleading content from the conventions is subconsciously infecting your mind, lol! The second runner up sounds like second, but is actually third. 1st - 928, 261 points; 2nd - BMW 7 series, 231 points; 3rd - Ford Granada - 203 points.

So the car that the 928 beat for first was the completely new 7 series BMW. Remarkable that both the BMW and Porsche are expensive and price is a key determining factor. Both of the those cars were so outstanding, they overcame the price hit.

"Nominees are judged on the following criteria: design, comfort, safety, economy, handling, performance, functionality, environmental requirements, driver satisfaction and price. Technical innovation and value for money are also important factors"

in 1978 best Actor nominees - Jon Voight, Warren Beatty, Gary Busey, Robert DeNiro, Sir Lawrence Olivier. I will let you decide who is the "Granada"
