We're hoping to bring the shell back to my house tomorrow, and William started cleaning my garage floor yesterday, it's not clean enough for assembly. So of course I'm mopping out the whole garage today. So my vote is 'sickness'.

Dug into the clutch master cylinder to make sure it's ok- tons of crap in the bore above the piston, so I carefully cleaned that all out before blowing the piston out- Dirty brake fluid but once rinsed the bore looks great, so it'll go back together. It's the first thing that goes in the engine compartment.

That hose will become part of your replacement orange vacuum hose to the EGR, unless you want new. While cleaning up I found a segment of original brown vacuum hose with the coupler and thermo hose at the end, just needs your cleaning magic.

Celebrated the President's day holiday by prepping for Minerva's return- Most of the major sub-assemblies are ready to go, and there's a ton of engine compartment prep to do before dropping the motor. So I washed the floor for the first time in 6 months. Very satisfying, it was filthy....

More random walking through the garage:

Took the floor carpets to the local greenskeeper:

Shift ball cup replacement:

Spare tire blasted, prep for re-spray:

Post-William-****-polishing:

De-petrified the grease in the shift linkage:

Radio blockoff plate and its mounting bracket:

Reverse surface:

Fitting accessories on the motor:

Still such an inspiring thread..great work guys...

You should haul that engine over to Greg's and run it on his dyno before it goes in

Looks like it's just about go-time.

I've been kicking around the radio delete plate idea...did you get that from Jim?

Brian.

Hi Brian-

Yes, I got the delete plate from Jim, though it's only the vinyl-covered center section. You also need the metal backing bracket, which I found on Ebay.

Spent some time today harvesting a firewall liner off a donor '89 at Mark's.

Donor:

The material is the same as the early firewall, 6 mm thick buytl rubber, the only difference is the foil facing on the later car. Heavy as hell- must weigh 15 lbs. Going to need to punch out a hole for the clutch master.

What the heck is going on with these hose connections? It's clearly the wrong 928 113 159 02 on the diverter valve, and I just noticed the bonus hose connection on the lower airbox.....
