Oh my.
78 Euro 5 speed.
"Runs well."
$6k.
Interior is well worn, but not torn up too much, apparently needs paint. If the odo is accurate (trip odo doesn't show zero), around 95k miles (cluster is metric).
Worth a closer look by someone.

I think that's Felsengruen, or forest green. Has been federalized at least for the ext lighting. New clutch is nice. AC prolly dead, and a few other elec gremlins as well. Still a nice starting point for someone who likes the vintage stuff.
Sad that some folks will just never learn how to photograph something for sale.

"It was one of the most memorable drives of my life. i still remember crossing the wide open spaces of New Mexico at the high end of Autobahn speeds."
Someone needs to get that guy into Porsche's marketing department. Or at least as a side-career into Romantic Novels.

Homes had something called '****' carpet on the floor. Everyone smoked Winston cigs. White guys had afros, and wore shirts with huge collar tips. Women burned bras - **** were everywhere. Imported cars came in colors like gold dust, moonstone, and forest green. I had a pair of rainbow bellbottoms and I actually wore - them - to - work,,, and fit right in with everyone.

Do we see many 78 Euros (by %)?
I recall seeing a number of 79s. But would seem like it could have some history as a demo car or high roller first owner, to make the leap to import a Euro model in the first year. Unless it was just a 'check the box' thing back in Porsche's boutique years.
BTW Doc, just curious were you in Texas back then?
Assume free lava lamp goes with?

Late 70s. It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.

Is there anything to be learned from the VIN? 9288201118 Is there any way to tell if this is an early car?
That is a really green (almost kermit) car....wish we had engine shots...might find a rat hotel or Jimmy Hoff's remains hiding under that bonnet.
I contacted the seller for more info. I'll try to get engine photos and info on service history.
Anybody live nearby this car?

^^^
It reads as a US '78 but has physical characteristics of a RoW '78 Euro. A little sleuthing is suggested.

I have a 78 Euro 5-speed with a body kit this car is fun to drive just feels different then my 85 Euro and 86. I heard that a there were not of them were imported to the U.S. Getting the parts has been interesting but seeing the small changes over the years has been enlightening.
