For those of you that may not have seen it just take a look at this in car Youtube clip of Mark Anderson at Willow Springs especially when he passes a Ferrari on the outside!

I can only hope Rob Edwards ( new owner) can have half as much fun as I did

Rob Edwards 08-03-2015 06:56 PM

Not sure how that will be possible with only 1/8th the talent. But we'll see.

Mark
I hope he has half as much fun as I had watching it/listening to it!

Thought I had seen all the decent 928 videos out there in cyberspace-clearly not. I would like to have seen the Ferrari drivers face when you went past him on the outside of that bend- I suspect he might have been a bit pissed.

The Ferrari driver and I have been friends for years and raced against each other with many different cars. That Ferrari was a 360gt which is a factory race car. Several notches above a challenge 360

I could swear we've had this conversation before, wasn't your best WSIR lap in the 1:24s? And there's GT-2 stickers all over the car- or are PCA and POC not 'official'?

GT-2 or R2 were the classes .... basically unlimited, porsche chassis, thats not a turbo, on slicks. :)

Reminds me of that immortal line from Top Gun- "I tell you, we got two categories of pilots around here. We got your prime pilots that get all the hot planes and we got your pudknockers who dream about getting the hot planes. Now what are you two pudknockers going to have, huh?"

Most of us are Pudknockers but we do have a few Prime Pilots as well thank goodness. You chaps certainly get my attention doing what you do.

By the way a "Pudknocker": A person (usually male) who is pretentious and arrogant, but lacks any real skill or ability. Most often used by military pilots.

I thought it was someone who criticised his mum for making a lousy Christmas pudding!

My best at Willow was a 1:23 but I only had a hand full of those. 1:24 all day long with the proper tire budget
I often had multiple class designations on the car as I was running POC, PCA, and World Challenge at the same time.
I really miss those days

One of my favorite pictures. To me this best represented World Challenge

I watch this video a couple times a year just to get my fix. We Pudknockers need to get our vicarious thrills somehow.

Now that is what "Days of Thunder" would call "Running in a crowd"- looks like you overtook that lot via the roof lines- great pic!
