Question Fitting 16’ x J8 rims at the rear on a Porsche 928 S1 1983?

I have manage to buy a extra set of teledials for my 928. I will be using it in Johannesburg so I thought it would be a good idea to stockup with a spare set of rims while I can still find them.

The set I bought however came with J8 wide rims at the back. Some questions:

• I have been trying to understand the offset calculations on these rims/cars, but found that above me, so will these rims work on the 1983 model?

• How would it look, e.g. stick out?

• What tire size combination should I use with the rim combination?

• Will it change my car’s handling (positive and/or negative) in any way?

• How does this affect wheel alignment?

I have noticed that later 928 S4 models had these rims combination as standard, J8 at the back, J7 at the front in 1987 and 1988, although those were not teledails, I think these got shipped with a 944 Turbo.

For those S4 vs my S1, the specs was:

Standard tires front: 225 50 VR 16 (vs 225 50 VR 16)
on rim: 7J x 16 H2 (vs 7J x 16 H2)
Impression depth (ET) (mm): 65 (vs none or not specified)

Standard tires rear: 245 45 VR 16 (vs 225 50 VR 16)
on rim: 8J x 16 H2 (vs 7J x 16 H2)
Impression depth (ET) (mm): 52,3 (vs none or not specified)

Should I use these or should I go and hunt for two more J7?

you need to know what the ET of the rim is .
Stock the 928 ET is 65 with ET 50 about the lowest you can go in front as tire trammeling and fender edge rubbing will occur.
and about ET 43 in the rear before the tyre will hit the outer fender
look on the rims and find the stamp that has an ET and a number
