1981 928s, Once you remove the bellhousing bolts, is the driveshaft still "supported"
Hi, working through the engine removal on my 1981 928s euro,
The WSM asks me to remove the front support brace directly aft of the clutch,
and now I am working on the rest of the disassembly.
After removing the lower and upper bellhousing bolts, do I need to provide additional support for the bellhousing where the clutch pack goes? Will the drivetrain just clang down to the floor after the bell housing bolts come out?
Thanks for helping the resident idiot again.

Three Wheelin'
I recall there is nothing supporting it, other than the exhaust heat shield. I used a ratchet strap looped under the bellhousing, and then tied off to the firewall top edge to hold iy up.

Advanced
Only the heat shield on my 78 and 82. Probably not wise to use as support but I found out by mistake. I supported TT with a jack stand but a straps sounds good too.
