Default 475 rwhp corrected from ~5400 to over 6600 rpm

Did someone say 500 rwhp uncorrected??? But wait, that was actually an unpublished 499.5 rwhp with carbon intake.....or was it a 488 corrected result with carbon intake? Both great efforts! Good job.

Look at the DEVEK website for a real 500.0 rwhp sometime later today!!! Uncorrected and unblown!

Is it corrected you want........yup, you got it, that is 490 SAE Corrected RWHP...Can you say over 475 rwhp for 1400 rpm, or how about over 450 rwhp for maybe 2200 rpm! Ohh, the damage one can do!

NOW it is time for the intake testing to begin! Can you say 550 rwhp corrected? Maybe even 560?

What was that song..."I shot the sheriff, but did not kill the deputy"....

This is so much fun...

Yea....

Nice work Marc, but now comes the toughest test of your engineering skills . . .

Passing sound at Laguna Seca.

Turn 1 is gonna be mighty exciting with all that hp. Don't lift! And have fun this weekend!

Let's say that someone wants to buy a ~450 rwhp engine. In what region would the price be?

You folks running any "by the pound" specials? How much motor can I get for $8000?

Normy,

Marc would be selling by the inch, Tim would be selling by the pound.

I think Marc makes a good point on the power available at given RPM levels. The Centrifugals have the characteristic of max boost only at one set RPM point and that can't be changed. With a turbo, you can be at the wastegate setting for well over 1/3 of the RPM band....on the gates as they call it. The end result is early and good mid range torque. Afterall, aren't we really after power, which is the product of torque and speed?

Regardless, you guys have all done super work.

And I think Tim is also selling by the inch....inches of Hg.

The electric motor comment was great....bet that has a flat torque curve...well it has to because of its syncronous speed.

"Can ya dig it? I knew that ya could!"

Torque. That's all I got to say. But of course, we are talking about Devek here. Keep it up Mark. - Ruf

John,

Don't they (someone) make computer controlled waste gates that could always provide boost for the best result at any given RpM? - Ruf

We hit 495 ft lbs of tq using the flappy...not a good idea.

With the new intake, we expect to take out about 50 ft lbs of tq at the lower end and add it up in the rpm range to increase hp....and reduce total torque peaks.

Well, as someone pointed out in their HP calculations, the more power an engine makes NA, the more power that same engine will make under boost. So if you keep making extremely powerful, and durable NA engines, all you will have to do, to win the HP war, is bolt a SC and intercooler on one of your engines, and it will probably blow everything else out of the water...

Although if we are talking max HP, turbos are the way to go.
So if TomC comes up with a TT stroker beastie, it should be pretty impressive...

Marc, you have to be careful with corrected and uncorrected numbers. corrected numbers bring it all back to standard atmospheric conditions. 499.5 on Joes car was great, and yes, it was on a 80degree plus day. why the correction was negative to 488, is only known by those values measured by the dynojet system. Id be willing to bet that they are a little off. Ive also had uncorrected numbers be less (as in when we dyno in the winter time.) so, I wouldnt get too caught up in uncorrected vs corrected. heck, if it does it, it does it!!!!

the fact that you did a 500hp uncorrected (if this is what you are implying) is awesome , especially for a summer run,and without the CF intake.

Let us know how it goes!!
