Any idea of the power it puts down?

Some idea

Keep in mind that it's also lighter than a normal 928 with all the roof and glass removed, which also lowers the Center of Gravity.

Looks good. If it was still in my garage, nothing would have changed. Been busy and getting busier. Next time you are in the area, check in and we can have a beer.

Thanks and you bet.

For those of you that don't know, Doug was the previous owner of this car while it was still in the project phase and got me off to a good start cosmetically with the repaint and bodywork. I envisioned it would look just like this the photos in this thread the first time I saw it up on his lift, even when it actually looked like this and wouldn't start.

I worked out an agreement with Carl and shipped it straight from Doug's garage to 928 Motorsports where it spent the next 5-6 months getting all the mechanical service and upgrades (SC, TB & Water Pump, Suspension, brakes, etc), then shipped it from Carl's place to my garage where it spent the next 6 months getting the interrior, electric upgrades, and finsih work, which I did (carpets, newer front & rear seats with updated door panels from Kevin Berez, rear A/C housing customized for the 1,000 watt stereo amp, auto-dimming rearview mirror, electic locks, top remounting to body with gaskets & weatherstripping, dash & pod upgrade from Rob Budd, Sharkwoofer, Focal 3 way door speakers and rear 2-ways, window tint, secondary fuse panel for all the updates, custom Corian fuse & relay panel cover, air-horns, lighting rewiring, etc).

Started driving it around about March, which is when I decided that it really needed the Z06 6-speed upgrade, which I setup in advance to have done at Carl's shop in WI in June, and it was this trip for which I started this thread.

Doug now has a beautiful 997 and I, a really nice (IMO) 928 Spyder to round out my P-car collection - 4-cylinder mid-engine 914, 6-cylinder rear engine 911, & 8-cylinder front engined 928 - thank goodness Porsche doesn't make anything with a V10 - guess the next one needs to be a Mission e

Good dyno chart! 292 RWHP equates to 343 at motor. Good AFR's too - fuel where you want it when you need it.

Damn good for a K-Jet CIS 4.5 litre 220 HP factory car! Just want viewers to understand how outstanding those gains are...

...we apologize for this commercial interruption and return you to your regularly scheduled programming...

Nice thing about the early cars is that the lower 8.5:1 compression ratio, compared to the higher compression of the later cars, responds very well to forced induction without a lot of reliability or longevity concerns.

One more finishing touch arrived this week - ordered some Inpelle leather floor mats back in June thinking I'd have them within a couple weeks for my drive to WI, but they were backed-up, then on summer shutdown, then who knows what, but they finally arrived last week and look great. I have them in my 997 and our Infiniti too - they're real leather and the sets in my 997 and 928 have a carbon fiber look heel pad on the driver's side mats. Got a set of 4 so everyone in the car can enjoy them.

Default Manual Adaptive Sport Seats

I found a set of full leather Manual Adaptive Sport Seats that I'm going to install into my 928 Spyder. I have the power versions in my RUF 997 and they sit the best of any seat I've had in any of my P-cars. Had the backs wrapped in CF vinyl to protect the delicate back surface from the kids shoes and to tie them into the CF interior trim of the car. I'll install them as soon as my Rennline fire extinguiser mount arrives, which should be coming Monday.

Hey Pete Met you out at cars and coffee one weekend when you brought the spyder. Seats look like a Great addition. I do have to let folks, know. this is a pretty cool modification. It is certainly done well, and The styling of the drop top is quite impressive. Not sure why porsche never did it after seeing this car.

Default Adaptive Seats Update

Got the Driver's seat installed so took a few pics with the new driver's seat and the previous GTS seat installed for comparison. Had to modify the parking brake surround to create clearance for the height adjustment handle and seat recline switch. Also made a wiring pigtail to go from the factory 928 female dual spade connector to the factory 997 seat dual male spade terminals so all the OEM wiring is left intact.

Now that I've confirmed these seats will work in my Spyder, the 12-way power and heated GTS seats are up for sale in The Marketplace.
