Saw a red one navigating around Indy beltway last week.... what a beautiful vehicle.
928, a little bit of Ferrari in the front area and a tad of Etype to my eye at least. Wow.

I see them all the time where I am. They really do share a lot of cues with the 928 but they are less practical as the cabin is a fair bit smaller.

I did get a bit of sticker shock when I found out they are over $140K.

That's what my 928 nearly cost in today dollars in 1990.

+1

They start at $110k which IMO is a bargain for such a car. If you check all the option boxes they will top out at $160k+, which is still a steal compared to other long nose front engine GT's from the likes of Aston Martin and Ferrari.
Not sure why the flagship Mercedes would be expected to be priced below a Boxster (Which tops out at over $140k if you check all the options....)

A fully decked out Porsche Macan, a baby SUV with a shared Audi platform, can go over $140k.

They must sell a lot of them! This is the only way to buy one cheap in 15 years.
Very low volume market cars like the SLS cost everytime the new price.

Default Mercedes AMG GT

I'm in a small college town and have only seen one of these in traffic around town......but I have to conclude they "borrowed" some lines from the 928- especially the rear profile!!

Where I work McLarens are more pedestrian and 911 are more common than Corollas.

I see them on occasion and they always look fantastic. Really wish I could have a go in one.

Sure, I'll agree that they're coupes with a hatch.

But I can only wish that the 928 looked half as good as the AMG. The AMG's rear looks much better than the 928's.

I think the 928 is the better looking car, but agree the AMG is the true 928 successor. I don’t like the little duck tail-style extension to the AMG hatch. Also, I don’t quite get the weird rear tail light shape.

Although I am admittedly biased.

Considering the 928 left off in 95' I can't look at this car and see it as an innovative body design. Would I like to have one? Of course!

By the way, some years ago I had an older gent look at my 928 and tell me it looked to him like my car got its lines from the old Jaguar E-type and. I suppose I can see that too...
