Default Oil in the intake throttle body yes or no?

I have just completed an inspection of my throttle body in order to see if my closed system breather/oil separator design produce the desired results of oil free air being returned to the intake.

The pictures show the steps I took to do the inspection and proof the fact that I have zero oil or oil reside being return to the intake.

The car currently has 185k miles on the odometer she is running strong knocks are from 0-16 per 10000 combustion as recorded by the hammer.

I used a flexible clamp with a rag attached to the end of it inserted into the throttle body move it around, turned it around and upon exiting the TB with the same rag found zero traces of oil.

Anyway like they say the proof is in the pudding, a 928 motor that runs with 0-16 knocks per 10000 combustions is a happy one.

Herman, this didn't just happen by good fortune, right? I seem to remember you tweaked the breather set up. Could you give some background because this thread needs some more information. Or a link to the installation please.

It didn't happen by good fortune? Yes like others I have tweaked my breather set up I'm working on collecting a few more data points right now while actually driving the car

As soon as I have these facts I'll post them together with the latest mods to my setup.

Default Follow up...

The car in question was sold and no driving data was collected prior to the sale. The same test as shown in post #1 were done over a 2 year period and there never was any oil in the intake with the system I had installed.

Others have developed and installed proprietary systems but I don't know if they have done any practical test related to the throttle body as the one I posted here.
