Default Removing Porsche wheel locks

Just bought this 80 5SPD and the key I have doesn't work the locks. What's the best way to remove them?

Go to the local Dealer - they should have one you can borrow.

Then throw them away and replace with standard lugs.

The only one ever deterred by wheel locks is the owner of the vehicle.

Slide Hammer - screw it into the lock and pull.

^^^ This.

I've posted this before, but one of the receipts that came with my '82 said something to the effect of: "Tow car to shop. Drill out 8 (!) wheel locks..."

As JB said, there is such a thing as being too careful.

Those are very simple disc tumbler locks. you don't even have to rotate the lock core to extract them. if you have something thin that you can fit into the key slot, just apply slight pulling pressure on the housing and stick the thin object into the key slot and rake across the tumblers. The pressure should hold them until the lock slides to the next detent. There are I believe 4 discs, so repeat until it comes off.

Yes they can be "rake picked" very easily. If the whole lug cover rotates too much it can be wedged with a piece of cardboard. Once the locking cover is off the lug underneath can eventually be replaced with a standard one, or tolerated.

Grab a drill and a bit. It'll take you about 30 seconds.
