I believe that this is Cory's Weissach that is involved here.
BTW - he has a FRESH engine rebuild.
CORY - Take this guy to the SCCA monthly AX, the Porsche DE (20-21 of this month!) or meet him at the 2x yearly Corvette club AX. All of these are at Bronson Field! OR - Have him meet ME there! I'll show him what an almost 20 year old piece of German Engineering is all about! (just - leave the Z06's alone!)

My dad sold Porsches from 1980 until 1986...He says that the 928 was a serious screw up. It was slow to accelerate, lacked superior handling...and was a pain to operate, plus to rebuild the engine...lol...and the 40K price tag..

Drifting
This one is mine
I would only partially agree to this up to 1963 models. After that, fuggedaboutit!
Anyone who thinks a 928 is better looking than a Vette really needs to be taken out to pasture and shot!

I wanted to Forget HS and there you guys put this in front of me. Incorrectlly spelled words, phrase mis-matching, and sentance splices galore. Jesus. At least the 928 kid has a girlfriend to stick up for him. But no, I'm sure she would give it up anyway. I hated those years, and its obviously gotten worse...Much worse. The kid thinks he's hot with a mid eighties vette? Wasn't it like 280hp then?
To each thier own, but at least they could see the situation from the otherside like many of us try to do here.

Anthony, Thanks for the link, like my new smilly? I like Vetts of all MY's, but I'm not about to trade my 928 off for one. I might add one to my Stable of One some day!
Here are the 85 Vette stats you decide.
I like this one the best!
"If youre gonna let some smack talkin get to you that bad, you need to do a gut check. BFD if he doesn't like Vettes, there is always going to be a faster car or someone who thinks they have a faster car.... live with it."
P.S.
The bad thing for us 928 owners is, that a Vett is so much cheaper to Mod!
We used to say, If you need your Chevy engine rebuilt, you stop by the local Circle K ( a Texas stop and rob) buy a Big Gulp (42oz drink) and a rebuild kit.
Take the box of parts home; lift and pour box of parts over engine stand. What ever doesn't stick, you didn't need! Replace motor and your good for another 90K!

Right on, T_Max. Just last week some buddies and I swapped intake manifold, cam, and added a 100-shot to a stock 350. Baseline dynoed stock at 191 HP/268 TQ.
Dynoed the new rig that afternoon after tuning at 368 HP and 401 Tq at the wheels (on the juice, of course). Total cost - less than $1,500.00.
Idled ok, too. And it only took an afternoon, done in-car. Crap.

It seems to me that these people at that forum are youngins. Ignorant is Bliss in the Vette World and it pains me to say this. Not all vette owners are like that but it again, it seems to me that they are at that forum. What a shame.
I dared to become a member and I have added a comment or two - God Help me!
Edited comment: It's only one kid (still in HS) slamming the 928. Even the other vette owners are putting him in his place.
