Default Fog Light Switch Missing Wire

Hi guys

I'm a new member, and this is my very first thread. Please bare with me. I have a 1981 Porsche 928. I removed the pod to fix the cracks and I notice that one of the wires (grey with a yellow stripe) is not connected to anything. I have a feeling that it's suppose to go somewhere on the fog light switch. Can someone who has the fog light switch exposed look at a grey wire with yellow stripes. If possible take a close up picture of your fog light switch.

Thank you so much, I've attached a photo, I hope it worked.

Sorry for the bad picture but it's not coming out of the switch but leading to the switch. If you look to the right, and behind the picture you can see it. The fog light switch number is 928.613.111.00

Hey Ducman82

I think it broke off the switch on one of the terminals. but I couldn't see the broke piece, so it's hard to tell. I would love to see a close up picture of all the wires behind the fog light switch on a good switch.

Cheers

No......all the terminal has a wire going to it, my feeling is that there suppose to be two wires to each of the one terminal. I can see one terminal that only has one wire, maybe that is where it suppose to go???

ok ,this had me thinking so i pulled my switch. from what i can see (pod on still) that wire is tapped up and not used.. if i had to wager a guess, i would say it for the Euro REAR foglight connection. they used the same harness from ROW and euro cars.

tape her up and move along.. :-P

Thank you so much Ducman82.....I really appreciate your time you spent with me. I would have never thought that it simply wasn't connected.

Be well

I think that is very very likely. Rear fog light switching depended on the front being on, USA cars don't have this. (I thank god! for this).

hey Alan

I was really concerned about it, but thanks to everyone here. I feel better that other cars have the same thing.

I just found the same in my '82 - an orphaned grey/yellow wire in the bundle for the fog light. Interestingly (or maybe not) it wasn't orphaned from the connector like the OP, but rather was dangling further up in the bundle.

Regardless - one more guy confirming an unconnected wire which will be wrapped up tomorrow.
