What amazes me is how the cloth interiors have been downplayed for so many years, replaced with leather or vinyl, and now in the 911 and 928 world the tartans and pasha are sought after...in my searching I found more than a few threads out there on the 'ugly' tartan interiors being replaced...way to make your 'special' car into 'ordinary.'....

It seems vehicle "cabins" are designed to replicate the comforts of the home lounge , which makes sitting in traffic tolerable for many. Until tartans, houndstooth and , er Pascha ;<) make a comeback in the furniture stores , it will be leather and substitutes for the majority.
Anyone here got a Pascha sofa?

One way to tell if front seats are original to the car is to see what rear seats look like. Notice that they are not usual 928 rears as they have same shape as fronts. No indentions like normal rears have. If fronts were changed from 911 rears would look different. Also one indication for cheap seats is missing storage box between rear seats. It was possible to get separately but many times it's missing at same time when these cheap seats were used.

It's possible it depends in what material was used. I think besides tartan also berber was done cheap flat style. Not sure if flat pasha version exists.

PS. That German sticker is super cool. I love it when a 928 comes with that kind history (don't remove it).
(can't quite tell for sure from the picture).
And what exactly does it say or mean..?

I have a 1980 RoW 4.5 with the 911 looking seats and no headlight washers similar to this car.
Mine is black/brown pasha not tartan.
I have mysterious option I282. Is that related to this 'poverty pack'?

As far as I'm aware, I282 refers to rear sun visors, but I've never been confident about why that's called out, it appears on roughly 500 cars between 1980 and 1982 (and only on the 1st car in '82) despite all 928s having them.

I went on a bit of an internet photo mission of cars for sale, and many of the 911 seat equipped cars don't have don't have rear visors.
It is hard to cross check this against options though - many of the VINs are not in the 928 registry with options listed.
I speculate sales weren't what they expected and Porsche implemented some cost savings on the 4.5 litre cars.
My '282' car has the 911 seats but does have the visors - so perhaps it is one of the 'budget' cars but with the rear visors optioned in????

There were some poverty spec 4.5L ROW cars without rear visors sold during those two years. Cheapest spec cars barely had steering wheel included in as Porsche tried to get sale numbers up. Didn't work too well.
