I bet they wouldn't want to touch it. Probably have no idea where to start or they would farm it out to GB for a huge premium!

Porsche techs are no longer allowed to 'crack open' an engine or gearbox to fix an internal problem. If there's an internal problem it gets swapped for a factory-refurbished unit.

I would think that any Porsche tech capable of it is either retired or independent.

My motor was rebuilt at Cherry Hill Porsche in the early 90s. I spoke with the PO who remembers the total bill being around $40k. He only had to cover 15%.
