Anyone know old Blaupunkt radios? Experts please chime in.
I'm getting no joy from my Heidelberg Stereo Super Arimat. I have the 'Empfangsteil' peripheral which I believe is the amp/tuner. I Understand there is also a third unit, a smaller box called 'SDK' which I think is for picking up traffic report information on the defunct ARI band.
Could not having that box be why I'm not getting any sound? The head unit itself lights up and scans and appears to function. I just have no sound and the scanning behaviour suggests that it isn't finding any stations.
Any advice/pointers/anecdotes very much appreciated.

the radio is a heidelberg or a bamberg cr arimat?
anyway the second box on these adios shpoud be is the "verstarker" ,the amplifier , bt sometimes there's some FM equipment on that.pu ca recognize this differene looking ath the plugs, it the speakers are plugged to the radio it is a FM module .
never seen other stuff plugged on those radios.Except the GAL(a little box that raise /lower volume depengind on speed).
anyway pay attention to the fm modulation bits(prone to failure) and volume /on-off know.....
commonly they fail.

I have not had a lot of luck with these radios - mainly Bamberg. There is one component that fails due to age and it is hard if not impossible to repair. I found a company in the UK that specializes in these era bluespot radios. They will take your radio and try and fix it but costs a lot - several hundreds $.
In my case I decided it was not worth the money and use classic style radio's with modern internals - lots of them available that look at home in a 928.

Thanks for the replies guys. I'm giving up and putting it on Ebay. It's a pretty inelegant set up in my humble opinion. Could they really not have put everything in the one box? Other manufactures of the era managed it.
Out of curiosity, which old style modern radio did you choose? (If you don't mind my asking).
