Hacker,
I do actually have an overlay, but my offer was tongue-in-cheek. Your car is much too nice to use an overlay. I would recommend Rob Budd in this instance.

I can't find the link, but as a temporary "fix" I bought one of those "tech fabric" covers that sticks on with velcro. It actually fits pretty good, and IMO looks better than the carpet or suede covers. It's certainly not a permanent solution, but at least I don't have to stair at a cracked dash while I take care of my many higher-priority items. I thought I got it on eBay, but I can't find it in my purchase history so I guess not...

Maybe one of those 'tech fabric' covers would be something that Rob might consider offering. I've had a black 'velour' dash cover on my car since I've owned it, and the dash underneath is (still) as-new. At least it was a few yers ago, the last time I looked under the dash cover... Mine came from a local SoCal swapmeet vendor. I bought three that day, and the one for the Subaru ski car was the only one that didn't fit correctly. Need to replace the tired one in the 928. It's a little sun-faded at this point, and a quick attck with some Rit black fabric did did nothing for it. So new, or a can of spray black carpet paint is in its future. Or a new hiigh-tech fabric dash cover from Rob B...
