Looking for a specific 928, 1985-86?, Iris Blue Metallic?
 

Anybody own this one? Pre-1988. Owned by David Croeni of Foster City, CA. I think the official color name is Iris Blue Metallic, but could be wrong about that. If it was that color, it would have been a 1985 or 86.

There was an earlier, similar color called Helblau.

Dave was a great friend. I'd like to track down his 928.

Put the iris blue and model year guess in the subject and it will get more attention.

Iris Blue Metallic wasn't available until the 1994 model year.

If this was a pre-S4 model in a dark blue metallic, the color was likely Prussian Blue Metallic.

My 86.5 was iris blue metallic. It is a light blue color, and was a stock color for the model year. Here is a picture of it.

Nicole and Ed your both correct but your also talking about different paint codes and colors.

I don't know about "86 only", because I've seen an 85 (US) with "Iris Blau" on the door sticker.
It was for sale locally (and way overpriced). I saw it still on the lot a couple weeks ago, but it's not on the website anymore.

I stand corrected. Didn't think that "Iris Blue" had been there twice. My bad.

How about an 84S in slate blue metallic. Mine was originally purchased by a David, also from Foster City. A Christmas present for himself? Ask me how I know.

Jon, slate blue looks too dark for the car I remember. His last name, Croeni, is pretty uncommon though, so if your PO had that name it is likely the same car.

My 85 euro is iris blue pearle metallic If I remember correctly a later year paint option.

I'll have to go home and check the old folder. Makes me wonder how many Davids owned a 928 in Foster City. It's not that huge of a community. Although, there is money there.
