does an S4 peelout?
I now hear my kick down switch work when I press down the button. When I place the car in 2nd and smash down the peddle I can feel it shift out of 1st and into 2nd. The car does not peel out? It seems like their is power loss in the beginning. What do you guys think I should check? I just did an intake manifold refresh, replaced all the injectors, knock sensors, TPS, and ISV.

My auto does not peel out. You can make it artificially do it by holding the brake rev it up and release the brake and stomp on it. You will ruin your transmission, but make your inner kid happy.

Before supercharging and after getting it to run as it did from the factory, mine burned the crap out of one tire all the time.

I have same experience as Sean, particularly if turning while mashing the gas (not even to kick down). Also, I've found mine does it more in winter when the rubber is a bit harder. Try this - come to stop light, shift the auto from D to 2 and back to D. Then mash the pedal hard when the light turns green. This makes it start off in 1st gear. I usually get a chirp going into 2nd. I have 265s on the back.

In summer mine won't do it off the line going straight, but it will chirp going into 2nd. In winter one wheel may spin a bit, especially making a turn and on the gas hard it will spin the inside wheel a bit (weight shifting the outside wheel obviously contributing). I can't afford to burn up tires so I like it just fine as is.

With a slight turn of the wheel today I absolutely seared the rubber from one non lsd wheel well into second gear. Went back and looked at the patch and wow was it long. Also did a non scientific 0-60 and got 6 seconds flat. 87 AT needing an intake refresh but runs great. I figure I am not too far off stock. You need to get that trans shifting to spec. It is a matter of vacuum, mechanical linkage settings, and having the motor running to spec.

not an S4, but if conditions are right on dry pavement, I can get a little spin off the line with the 8" rears, and sometimes a lil chirp when it hits 2nd. when I had the 7" rears with the old hard rubber on the back, slideways launches were at will everytime.

I didn't peel out on take off, but the wheels would break loose around 3500 RPM when I used to have an x-pipe and high flow cats. The cam timing was also advanced 2 degrees with a 32v'r tool by Porken.
That is gone now since I went back to factory cats for emission purposes, which definitely robbed the car of power.
This was on a non-sharktuned car too.

If I leave the "onion" 86.5 Auto in 2nd and floor it off the line, she will break loos the 275's.
I did this repeatedly at the track when the flag was dropped, later while standing at the fence watching others take off, an onlooker pointed to the tire marks and laughed saying "I guess you don't like those tires".
Car has an "ott X", Muff-bypass, PorKen's Chips, rebuilt MAF and new 4 hole injectors.

I can get 265's in my 81 US auto to break loose. With 225's, it was really easy and it could burn those tires for a long time
I don't see why a S4 couldn't do it easily.

The only auto I have had that would spin wheels off the line was a turbo 4.1 L Ford (Australia) with 270 kw and 0-60 of 5.1 which is respectable for a family saloon. Spin in 1st and 2nd with a chirp sometimes in 3rd. Great car. Easily beat my 86.5 in a straight line but corners and driving joy were no comparison.
