depending on who you believe they spend something north of $1,000,000 per episode....Clarkson sold his partial interest in the show for about $16 MILLION ... the worldwide revenue is HUGE !!!

I just finished watching the two hour show. What a great episode. It's not fun to see a 928 abused, but it was fun to see it as one of the stars of such a major episode that will be seen by some many millions around the world. I loved Jeremy's story about the 928 and his dying father... I won't spoil it... Anyway, great show. I was waiting for a rock on the beach to puncture the plastic tank. I think the car did pretty well considering what it put through.

when will it be on US TV?

Did they really edit it differently for the US?! Why would they do that?

They do it for controversial content, but mostly it is for the time slot. The UK version usually has 20 minutes more per episode than the US edited version just in the normal seasons. The specials get chopped up too.
The second unedited half is just over 1 hour. And that is without commercials.

Well, the version that I just watched, which I recorded from BBC America, was 90 minutes, including commercials...so I guess they didn't cut much.

But if that was the total from beginning to end. You lost a lot of content.

Saw Part 1 on Monday, I knew from the previews that they would be driving classic V8's but didn't know they were going to venture through forests, dirt, roads, bridges like that. It was definitely hurtful to see 2 of my favorite cars (928 and Espirit) of that era being trashed like that. To me it was so pointless and rather stupid...but I guess that is the nature of their show. Can't wait for part 2
