Does anyone know what this is here for? I'm assuming the sunroof or rear wiper (which my 79 doesn't have).

This is behind where the stereo would be.

I'm wiring up a cigarette power receptacle and if this is a fused connection, it will make for a very easy wiring project.

Pretty sure that's sunroof.

Your '79 has a factory rear wiper delete? I'm familiar w/this being the case for '80.

FWIW, 78-79 had a wiper switch on the pod. But in 80, the switch went onto the console next to window and sunroof switches.
So if you have an 80->, you would see another connector similar to the one in your pic, for the rear wiper. Connector would be white, IIRC.

Perfect, fused and a few inches away from where I'm putting the power receptacle.

Here I was expecting I'd have to dig into the fuse panel.
