The original glass was cracked on the set I replaced, so I just broke the glass apart and then cleaned the groove with a small screwdriver.

I find it is much easier to break the glass into as small a parts as possible. Remove each part and clean the groove.

+1.
That's the (only ?) way to do it.

Be very careful when doing this.
Use a good pair of plier and a good pair of gloves.

Very easy to cut yourself.
Cut myself while doing this few years ago...

I would expect this first batch to be gone very quickly. The availability of these lens sets a new market for damaged lights that was non-existent previously.

I also I just broke the glass apart into smaller pieces and then cleaned the groove with a small screwdriver. Then used a clear silicon (I think) adhesive in the grove to mount the new lens. I think it turned out quite nicely. Good luck trying to figure out which one.

Thanks all,

I'll get my FBH (or is it BFH?). I'm sure many have wanted to take a hammer to a 928 at one time or another

Cheers, Phendriks

Great!!

I noticed that there isn't any cracked lens driving/fog lights for sale on EBay anymore. Everybody is now gonna hang on to their broken/cracked ones because now they can be repaired.

Just curious why they are described as for USA/Canada, when PET only shows different lens insert for France (presume at the time yellow tinted for France, though they seem to have abandoned that)? Anything unique about the US lights?

Fog and Driving light positions are reversed between ROW and US/Canada;
US has fog's on the inside-ROW on the outside (where they should be!)

Gearz is correct - 3 different lens - USA/CAN, ROW & France (Yellow)

No difference for RHD v LHD on ROW Lens.
