Brad - make sure you attend the briefing on Saturday morning prior to the tour. All info is shared at that time.

Appreciate it! Just finished installing new stereo head unit, speakers and passenger side comfort seat. Should be a pleasant 975 mile drive :-)

Had a rather fun, impromptu, meeting about 3rd Coast tonight to sort out the driving groups and routes. As always, Mike has put together one hell of a drive for everyone. Looks like around 220 miles for the total drive route with a few spots to stop and smell the wine, olives, lunch and spots which make it easy for those of use who only want to do 1/2 the drive.

We have around 100 people registered for the event and a great many of new folks coming in from out of town. This is looking to be typcial for the 3rd Coast gatheringing, great people, great locations to hang out and of course the people to make this one hell of a party. Well done to everyone who is putting this together.

folks.......we are fortunate to be attending the F1 race in Austin the weekend prior to 3rd Coast.

Given the race is over Sun night (a week today) and we don't gather till Fri aft we would love to have recommendations as to what to do/see between Austin the coast and back to Marble Falls.

thx much.......feel free to PM so we dont dilute this thread

Austin has quite a bit to see and do, as does San Antonio, which is just a short hop away. If you are using Austin as your base, consider renting a place on Lake Travis for a week. I used this site to rent a place there last summer for a family gathering and had a great time.

Default what to do

Malcolm,

I learned about this PBS show after contacting Double Horn Brewery. The show features a segment on their burgers, and shows the theater we'll be having Saturday dinner at. It's pretty low budget and full of bad jokes, but has lots of good info on things to do around Marble Falls.

You can see the full episode here

Malcolm,

Some other ideas not in Marble Falls... you could head south out of Austin on 35 and see San Marcos, New Braunfels, then San Antonio. The riverwalk is pretty nice in SA and of course the Alamo. If you want to venture further south, you could head to Rockport, where there is a high concentration of unique 928's and unique owners! If you are into fishing, the bull Redfish should still be running in early Nov, so you could do a charter out of Rockport.

Sean: if I'm understanding correctly, if you don't want to do the whole drive, there will be groups coming back early to Marble Falls? I think a lot depends on how late I am up Friday dictating how long I want to drive on Saturday.

Exactly. I usually head back to the hotel after lunch. All depends on how I feel from Friday night
