another quick update and a year since the last one and have done another 1.5k happy miles in her
just serviced her and the only jobs that needed doing were:
The fitment of a second heater valve to the other water pipe going into the heater radiator to finally stop any hot water getting through, i replaced the original valve with a metal one and gave it full vacuum but only fitting both valves cured the problem- picture below
and needed a little plastic removing from the tailgate plastic insert to allow the tailgate to fully lock in position-picture below.
other than that its just a case of cleaning the bugs off the front of it after the spirited driving that has needed doing :rockon:

final total of calendars sold was 80 so £800 went to Help for Hero's on this side of the pond and the ones sold in the US going the the US version of H4H -2 pictures below, not very PC in this day i know.

After a year of looking at the 6L engine on a stand- life, women, old age and work have been getting in the way-next weekend is the strip down to see why it was not running right.
having thought about it more i am pretty sure i know the cause and am 95% sure its not the 6L part of it but i will post pictures of what i find

finally got around to removing the heads from the 6L motor

first job check cam belt timing - just for my peace of mind -ok
check cam chain timing -ok
as in above post i was 95% sure the fault would be in the heads, either my fitment of the cams or possibly the valve springs

so next job was remove the heads and to fill the combustion chamber with diesel and see which leaked out past the valves, and after 10 mins they were all still full
so removed the valves and all springs were as i installed them.

so either i will :
remove the pistons and take a look.
make a coffee table
make an artwork out of the whole engine - like the picture below.
sell it
put it in a corner with a cloth over it and leave it to someone in my will

As i am more than happy with the engine thats in it now, it will never be going back into this car so i will just have a good think about the above options.

Thanks, i also contacted Jacquemond- the company who made the rear bumper and side skirts for the car- just to show them how their kit still looks after 12 years of fitment, and they put some pictures of it on their site.
