For guys that have replaced their window seals...

My rear corner pieces were already separated from the main seal and in much better shape than the lower seal. So I left them and just trimmed Rogers replacement off straight and butted it up. I also used some black rubber sealant (just a little on each end) before I butted them up, as an extra precaution. All is working fine that way. Not quite as bad as some have said, especially if you follow Roger's video.

I just did the upper window guide seal..the one that goes around the upper door frame....in addition to most of the clips coming off of the upholstered panel (hello JB Weld my old friend..how have you been...miss you lots)...it's just a fiddly farty job..not near as bad I'm sure as the outer lower scraper seal..
I smell like Palmolive Passion Fruit....that job is a pain...yuck.

Heh, I had my favorite local body shop install Roger's outer seals. They charged me for 8 hours of work and they don't want to know me anymore.
Apparently it is tough stuff.

It does not matter if you are fitting the Porsche $210 seal or our exact cross section after market $90 seal the job is the same and can be time consuming but very doable and certainly no where near an 8 hour job (you got screwed unfortunately).
Be prepared and watch the video on our web site - take your time with plenty of lube and it is relatively easy to do. Some do it without removing the door panel.
At the last OCIC in Wichita a 928 crew did 4 or 5 cars in a couple of hours.
Most of us will only ever fit one set of seals so the learning curve is longer. I am sure a second set would take a third of the time.
I have a shipment of 65 sets arriving from Europe any day now. There is a long waiting list but some sets are not spoken for as of today.

With some tape on your fingers for protection and some soapy water, this job should only take 1.5 to 2 hours for a retarded monkey on LSD.

I had my local glass shop do it, they said it was easy and charged me like $60 to do it. They also got me a windshield for $200, they're nice people

Well, considering the good relationship I had with them and how mad the owner was at me and my car, I have little doubt that it took their monkey even much more than eight hours. He charged me as much as he thought he could get away with and still complained about losing money on the job. Basically he got someone to work on it who was completely ill-prepared and incapable, and then took it out on me instead of laying the blame where it belonged. The lesson from this is that you cannot rely on a typical body shop to know much about how to deal with old cars like this. They only know how to fix collision damage on newer vehicles.

With both the upper seal and the lower seal off the door (stripped door from paint), which would be best to install first.? The upper or the lower.

Well...i did the upper first as it seems to only to fit in a certain spot due to the cut out for the window guide.
question now is, how did you guys make the area in the aft corner look “neat” where the two pieces of trim meet in the corner just after the bend. It is a PITA.
I tried to mimic the factory cuts in the rubber..etc etc..
