I know RL super nice guy Randy V will have an absolute **** fit, but when has that ever stopped me....

so, pardon for going a few inches past the steering wheel,

but I'd like to present my 944/968/928 GT style instrument cluster group buy idea....

https://rennlist.com/forums/924-931-...issions-6.html

it started when I began attempting to set up an attractive cluster to go with the 4" Porsche/VDO-style/200mph/gps speedo...

and if you scroll down, you'll see a variation that features the tach in the center position....

hope a few of you will get on board, as I think it's a great upgrade for the 928.

and in accordance with the thread rules,

and since a 996 wheel will fit a 928 (after mods and swapping out the clock spring),

here's a 996TT carbon wheel installed in my 968....

.

I'm in the process of having my wheel custom done by a shop in Europe.

Here's an example of what mine will look like, except in Classic Grey colour.

Perforated and smooth leather, entire wheel thickened and thumb spots added. All for less than $200.

Will post a pic when completed in a couple weeks.

I love the 930 wheel on the 928.

My '78 steering wheel has a slightly modified horn pad, made from the cheapish looking threespoke pad. Just upholstered a bit...

Robert Budd did mine, still holding up well.
It really is black, not grayish, that's the flash.

Jim
Can we get a couple pics of the cargo netting you have on your lower door panel?

They are Mercedes nets, only because it was the closest color match. If you just want black then Porsche, BMW, Audi etc.

When Paul Champagne did my seats I also had him add the same nets to the back of the seats.

^^^^ Worth noting for the airbag gang, the sport wheel is not plug-n-play on an airbag car. AB sensor defeat and horn contact aside, splines are different size so you'll be another $120 into the game for the Atiwe adapter. Still screwing with the horn pad as I believe it should be more flush (easily sticks out 1/4" further than it should)... BUT, it feels better than any other steering wheel I've held.

Randy - interesting!, waiting to see how it looks. Is the thickening done with a soft feel material?

I like this a lot - always thought a slightly larger diameter and a bit more give would be good.
