After a looooonnnnnnggggg time and many to-ings and fro-ings I am expecting to have a batch of 10 in my hands before Christmas ready for final QA and forwarding to Roger (assuming he still wants to carry them) for sales and distribution.
My thanks for your patience and forbearance.

Will those of us who bought the early non-fitting version receive replacements from this batch?

I have to admit, I haven't even tried to use the original one after reading about issues here.

Nicole,
my memory is that all but 1 of the faulty second batch was returned to me.
This makes me suspect that yours is from the first batch.

The original batch appeared to be fine (at least no-one made either Roger or myself aware of any issues with them).
I test fitted the cover to each of the first batch units and none of them exhibited the issues prevalent in the second batch (even though, purportedly, there was no difference in the tooling or manufacturing process between batches).

Perhaps I missed something. But shortly after receiving mine, I read that they don't fit properly, so I held-off on even trying to use it.

Should I try?

I don't want to be without a hatch latch for a few months until I may get a replacement.

Nicole,
My understanding is that Roger contacted those who received a unit form the second batch with a product recall.
Might be best to contact him to check if you were one of the people on that list. (I do not know who most of these people were).

Correct and we contacted all those that received one and the only person who did not respond was you Nicole.
I am sure we had the correct email as you used it for the initial sale. Please return it for a refund or exchange?

Thanks for doing this Myles as the 928 community really needs this part.

Oh - I'm sorry I missed this. I get more than 100 emails on an average day, so possible it went unnoticed...

Would definitely like an exchange. I'll send it back in the coming days.

So unsubscribe from all those German schnitzel websites!

Myself - I'm ready for version 2.1. Got the email and the T-shirt.

Yes. I am eagerly awaiting the new version. My hatch won’t electrically pop until then

Well............................
It is almost Christmas. Hope you all have a safe and happy one.

Contrary to promises made I have not received the new batch yet. I have been told that they have been cast but seem to have been caught up in the pre-season shut-down we have for the summer holidays here in NZ for the tapping and powder coating processes.

I would be surprised if they turn up before the middle of January. (Most businesses shut down for 2-3 weeks for their summer holiday).

I will update you when I have better news.

Maybe you, but not maybe we.
Maybe I need to move you from the "nice" waiting list to the "naughty" list.

Whiney Beotch! Myles is doing everything he can to make it right. However for some people, no good deed goes unpunished. Does the emoticon look familiar? I'm just kidding.......of course
