Default Help with Bosch fuel pump reference

Hi,

Just received in the mail a new Bosch fuel pump for my car.
When I ordered it,it was very well noted the year of the car, the original Porsche reference (911.608.102.02).
They send me a Bosch fuel pump reference 0 580 464 126.
I can't find this reference in the Bosch parts catalogs or anywhere.
I just contacted them and they say it's the right pump for my car, year, CIS pressures, etc.
Can someone please tell me if this fuel pump reference 0 580 464 126 has the necessary characteristics for my car?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Regards

This is why I ALWAYS order such parts from Roger...Just the RIGHT part at the right price.

No worries no headaches.

I know and you are absolutely right.
For several times I've bought items from Roger and never ad a problem.
I don't know if you have noticed but I'm in Europe and, unfortunately for me, in a country that charges incredible custom fees for everything that comes from outside Europe.
It was only a fuel pump and it came from a reputable UK Porsche parts shop, I believe they know what they are doing, and I'm not saying it's the wrong pump, I just wanted to confirm with the 928 experts in the forum.

For 911.608.102.02 which is correct in PET for your car details (unless it's been superseded)

Bosch Master Parts List 2003 PDF shows ...
0 580 254 053
Suits 928 from 9/'82 - 7/'83
M28.11 K Jetronic
175 litres / hr
5 bar
12mm inlet
M12 x 1.5 outlet
180 mm long x 60 mm dia
11.5 Amps Max

It shows 0 580 464 045 after that for electronic injection

All I can find for 0 580 464 126 is that it suits BMW, VW, Volvo and quite a few other cars, but Porsche of any type is not listed. I also can't find specs to compare that one with 0 580 254 053

Still looking, but drawn a blank so far ...

Thanks Dave,

i don't know where they get that part number (it's printed on the outside of the Bosch box) that we can't find any specs...
And the shop confirmed it's the right one for my car, but I must confirm.
In any case, thank you very much for your help!

Thank you Brian, it's always helpful to have documentation about all aspects of the 928!
However, as strange as this can be, there is no reference 0 580 464 126 in any of the documents, what do I have in that box, a fuel pump from hell lol?
Just to confirm I'm not crazy (yet....) attached is a pic of the box with the reference! And yes, there is a fuel pump inside that box....
Thanks for your help.

Thanks Brian ... came across all of that already in various forms, but it still doesn't give us any information on the 0 580 464 126 pump, that Ricardo has, that we're looking for specs for.

Edit: You beat me to it Ricardo ... two pairs of eyes can't find anything.

I've also looked at the Bosch website and done a part number search and can come up with both pumps; but can't get any specs, and when I do a part comparison it doesn't tell me what, if any, differences there are.

Roger or another supplier might see this and chime in ...

I dug around a little and it looks like you may be ok.

I found one website that cross references 0 580 464 126 to 911 608 10202
http://jrparts.en.gasgoo.com/auto-products/1498309.html

I also found an EBAY pump that lists:

"New BOSCH Electric Fuel Pump # 0 580 464 126 ( 0580464126 ).
This item is now updated to Bosch 0 580 254 957 ( 0580254957 )"

0 580 254 957 is listed in the PDF documents and looks like the correct pressure.

0580464126 is a generic Bosch pump with no current vehicle applications - may meet the specs but not the right pump by the part numbers. Not currently sold here in the USA by the three main European parts wholesalers.
Correct pump is 911 608 102 02 - Bosch 0580254967 or the new Bosch number 69466.

Thank you Roger, all clarified!
I guess it's going back for where it came from.
Once again I must forget custom fees and I will send you an email shortly with my order of the fuel pump.
Thanks again Roger.

Hi Ricardo,
I understand about customs fees - thieves!!!
Now you have the correct numbers can you find one locally. As a bench mark my price is $248.
Best,
Roger

For Bosch products, this is a useful website:
http://www.bosch-automotive-catalog....talog/products

It lets you look up parts in a variety of ways and find out if a part is used on another vehicle.

FWIW, my CIS car had an S4 pump on it when I got it, and I ran it 5-6 years before a full fuel system refresh. It worked fine in temps to 120F, so the fact that CIS uses 75psi system pressure where an S4 usually maxes at 45psi didnt seem to be a problem.
