Once you get to know her the name will just come. My 89 auto is my little girl until she gets in 4th gear then she turns into tha stallion. My new red 89 5sp project turned up with Betty, like fast Betty or Blow job Betty, song from 2 short.

I name my cars, but I give them male names.

My red 951 is 'Jake', after Molly Ringwald's romantic interest in 'Sixteen Candles', Jake Ryan, who drove a 944.

The blue Cayenne is 'Finn', I'm not sure why, but as it turns out, Finn and Jake are the two lead characters in 'Adventure Time', and Finn the Human wears blue.

The red 928 is Stitch, because Stitch stole a red police cruiser in 'Lilo & Stitch':

I'm planning on adding the white stripe to my Shark.

My previous white 928 was 'Moby', because Douglas Adams ("The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy") described a 928 driving through a rainstorm as looking "like a whale surfing". So, Moby was my white whale.

That's nice.

^This. No rush.

My Previous Owner (and his wife) called my '79 "Mr. P"

I couldn't get on board with that so we renamed (and apparently gender changed) her to "Blue".

Paul

My 2002 is "Ol' Silver", named by my wife.
My 928 is "Fierce", named by my secretary. ("That car just looks fierce!")
My vote for the OP is a +1 for "Silke".

Why does a car need a name?

I've always thought it kinda silly to see people refer to their car with a pet name.

Right, that's why you never named your Yacht.

Aside from some "No Translation" names I call it when it isn't working right, I call mine either 'Big Blue' (Shark) or 'Schnell-Panzer'

My wife does not drive stick shifts so I can keep Denkelager all to myself. Since we picked up the car in Germany we named it after one of their premier beers.

I'm with Randy, our 928's are mine, hers ( the wife) , daughters, and the other 3 or 4 taking up space in my driveway are just daily drivers
