Default Chrome wrapped 928....

Hi All

As promised I had my 928 wrapped in Mirror Chrome....some of the panels of wrap need replacing next week by the wrapper as he had a partial bad batch of film....

But as long as you stand 10 ft away or see it rolling it looks stunning....

I cannot post pictures here so here is a link to a short video I did (im rubbish with video lol)

I also cannot decide what to do about the wheels ?

I am told as Porsche wheels are ally that they cannot be chromed so looking for suggestions ?? Black maybe ?

All the best Brett

The car looks sharp! Any concerns with glare off the hood? I don't think I'd want to be driving into the sun with a mirror reflecting the sun's rays into my eyes. Maybe that's not a much a concern in Dorset as it would be here in Phoenix.

Hi David

I had the same worries about glare, but yesterday I did a 300 mile trip to pick up my daughter from University (it was sunny) and it was no problem at all...

Having said that, when I mounted my Race seat , I set it lower than the standard seat so I had some extra headroom for my helmet for my high speed Nitrous runs. So I am a little lower (maybe 1 to 1.5 inches) than normal.

Any ideas on the wheels ...colour etc ?

All the best Brett

Very shiny! I like contrast myself and would probably go with pretty much anything but chrome on the wheels. Seems like you could get the wheels chromed if you so chose, if not plated at least wrapped.

Hi

I did look into having the wheels chromed but was told that as Porsche wheels are MOSTLY ally but with SOME other metals in them , that although it was theoretically possible to do, none of the chroming companies would ACTUALLY do it lol...

I dont know enough about metallurgy to know if thats true, but it sounded fairly likely

I wish I was good enough with Photoshop , if i was i would colour them in with different colours to choose a result...

Shinny!

Have the rim polished and paint the centers gold to match the logo on the rear window and the badge on the hood.

HOLY NOS BATMAN!!

Car looks cool Brett.

I actually like those wheels, I'd suggest going the Plasti Dip route.

Just experiment with various colors as its easy to change. I would personally start with black and go from there.

Hi

The wheels NEED A REFURB anyway, (daily driver and curbs etc) so may go that route....

Most suggestions so far seem to be for black to match front/rear spoilers etc..... but even if i choose black, i cannot decide on Matte or Gloss ...lol

Indeed.
Looks like a lot of workmanship has gone in to the car.
You should be proud.

My Wife, 11 year old and I like your chrome wrap.

Black wheels would be nice with matte black hood.

That is badass!!! Have you considered keeping the wheels you have and have them sprayed black?

Hi

I will keep those wheels as I need the large sizes for grip (they are 10x18 and 7.5x18)

So its just a matter of deciding on a colour for them....

My brother (who also owns a 928) has a spare set of ORANGE slots lol...but i thought better of using those lol

All the best Brett

I will say , though I am rather biased towards the light blue of the previous iteration ,
really does indicate the requirement for some interplanetary shine!
