He looked at my seats and gave me a quote to make them look new. I will post the results next week. I am only getting the from done. The price includes materials and labor.

That's a awesome price but my guess is he has never had an OB seat apart. Interested to see what he says once he starts to disassemble the originals.

That's my guess as well. Every time I've seen seats not done by our usual vendors, they don't have that deep pleat look, and come out very puffy...

I will print out some pictures of the original seats so he knows the expectation. Even if it ends up costing a couple hundred more it is still a great deal if done right. We will see how it goes.

Doug says that, based on the seats that he has done for me and what he expects with the earlier seats, the price to do the driver and pass seats will be in the neighborhood of $1000 to $1500 for the pair. This does not include the back seats in regard to which I told him I wasn't sure what you had in mind. In vinyl or vinyl and cloth, as you propose, the pair of seats will be at the lower end of that price range. Leather at the upper end.

Have I told you anything about the taller center console glove box that I make? I would do one of those with your seat project for $300, in the same cover you select for the seats. $350 in leather.

Any specs or pics? Interested, thanks.

Removed my seats today so I can drop them off on Monday. I was wondering if anyone has any pics of well done six way seats that I can print up for the guy that is doing the seats so he knows what the expectation is.....

Here are a few pictures. The gray one shows a bit of wrinkle in the leather on top, but it was the first one I did and I didn't get it tight enough.

That is so sharp Jerry. I'm guessing it uses the same holes as the original? What is the lead time on these? PM me your contact info so I can order. Thanks!

What about one that would be a bit taller but would incorporate places for cups?

Hayden, you've probably already found some, but by far the best and most detailed pictures of 928 seat restoration are on Paul Champagne's website.

Paul has a lot of custom touches that go above and beyond the standard OEM seat design, but this will give you a good idea of what the pleasts should look like.

The pleats can be tricky. I've toyed with the idea of redoing mine myself but there are some tricks to getting them to stay in place.

Dropped the seats off at a different upholstery shop....ABC Discount Upholstery in downtown Vegas. Ended up going with brown surround, black perforated on the inserts, deleting the tubing edges in favor of French seams with black stitching. Jose the owner was very knowledgeable and had I was able to see his other works in progress.

I passed on the other place simply because the guy wasn't even there when he said he would be. I am now paying 650 but I think it will be well worth the extra 150 and I is still a hell of a price. 5 stars on Yelp as well.

In Black leather in about two weeks, given that this weekend is a holiday and we will be gone. $350 plus $20 S&H.

I have been all over that idea, a couple of times, at least in my head. Aside from the need to make four different forming "machines," which is a very big job and out of proportion to the very limited market for these boxes, I haven't figured out how best to locate a cup of coffee right about where your right elbow and forearm want to be.

Can you post a sketch of what you might have in mind?
