Default eh, whats this?

I have been working on my 928 for a couple of years now but it still amazes me how I sometimes just don't know what the hell I am looking at ...i am cleaning my grounds and while removing some bad harness from a cable i am looking at this (see picture) is this a very bad ground cable or even worse? Anybody?

That was once a RED wire!

It is your main power feed from the alternator/starter & to the CE panel (sort of important).

Yep, disconnect your battery first as it is not fused, and then fix or replace that wire.

And no matter what it may be called, don't jump start the car from there

Some people feel you might damage electrical parts, esp, the computers. Porsche put it there for jumping a weak batt. ?! So YMMV. I have jumped mine once and regularly use Schumacher attached there. I would not use a batt pack or charger at the jump post. If doing that, batt should be totally disconnected from system, some say remove it from the car.
